INFORMATION SHEET NO. 1/84

I have enclosed the requested items/information which I hope are satisfactory.
Please do not hesitate to write back to me if there is anything else about
DEPECHE MODE that you would like to know and I will do my best to answer your
questions. Please send a stamped, self addressed envelope to the address below
quoting the number 2/84 at the end of January for Information Sheet No. 2/84.

GENERAL NEWS I am extremely pleased to announce that Dave succesfully
passed his driving test in November with flying colours and
has recently acquired a new Ford Escort XR3i in which dash
around Basildon!

Since Duran Duran received their much publicised 65foot
letter I've had numerous giant scribings through my letter
box, but by far the longest was 105foot long and came from
Alison Jubb of Ryhope in Sunderland. Well Done!

RECORD NEWS At present the 'proposed' date of release for the next
completely new single is 12th March; please note there will
not be a Limited Edition Live 12" to accompany it, although
a normal 12" will be available also.

TELEVISION 'The Other Side of the Tracks' hope to broadcast the
interview they recorded with the group in Hamburg(not
Amsterdam as previously thought) on or around 20th
February.

At 7.05pm on February 3rd the one off concert at the
Birmingham Odeon will be broadcast on Peter Powell's 'ORS'.
The programme will be 40 minutes long and apart from live '
coverage of the gig will include pre-recorded material with
the band and crew etc.

TOUR NEWS On Christmas Eve the group returned from an extremely
succesful tour of Europe, mainly Germany where many of venues
were larger than those played on the previous UK tour due to
the huge demand for 'Construction Time Again' which so far
has sold almost twice as many as in England.

Unfortunately all plans for touring have been shelved so that
the band can concentrate fully on the new single and writing
the next album.

The show at the Birmingham Odeon on 3rd February has now
completely sold out and has been for a while. For the lucky
few who did manage to get tickets: doors open at 5.30pm,
support onstage at 6.10pm(maybe Matt Fretton) Depeche Mode
onstage and simultaneus live broadcast at 7.05pm. The show
will be a special shortened version for the television but
Depeche Mode plan to return for more songs when the cameras
have finished at 7.45pm.

Thanks for all the smashing Christmas cards, Depeche Mode and
myself wish you all

A very happy New Year in 1984!
